BLACKSBURG, Va. For the second straight year, the Radford cross country teams' season-opening meet at Virginia Tech was negatively impacted by weather, but both of the squads got at least some action in at the Hokie Invite on Friday.
The Radford men's and women's cross country teams both posted their best conference finishes in recent memory last year and open their 2015 season Friday at Virginia Tech's Hokie Invitational hoping to build on that success.
The Radford University men's cross country team placed fifth and the Highlander women were slotted sixth in the Big South Conference's annual preseason polls, based on voting by the league's head coaches.
